A powerful formula to support bone health. Vitamin K has been known for over 80 years for its role in blood clotting. This general term encompasses several forms of vitamin K, which come from different dietary sources: Vitamin K1, also known as phylloquinone, is found primarily in green vegetables such as spinach, broccoli, and kale. Vitamin K2 is found in a group of molecules called menoquinones, which are primarily microbial sources. This is why fermented foods, such as cheese and natto, a Japanese dish made with fermented soybeans, contain higher amounts of vitamin K2. In recent years, it has become clear that the different forms of vitamin K also have different health effects: While both vitamin K1 and vitamin K2 play a role in proper blood clotting, additional functions have been attributed to vitamin K2 in maintaining bone and cardiovascular health, particularly by stimulating calcium deposition in bone tissue and preventing calcification of blood vessels. Vitamin K is involved in multiple other functions, and its use as a preventative measure to maintain health during aging is currently being discussed. For bone health, supplemental calcium is usually recommended after a certain age. This intervention is more effective when vitamin K2 and vitamin D3 are taken together
Doppelherz® Vitamin D3+K2 provides 100 micrograms of vitamin K2 plus 35 micrograms of vitamin D3 (1400 IU). This combination is beneficial for stimulating bone mineralization while maintaining normal circulating calcium levels, thus reducing the risk of vascular calcification
Our advice for healthy, strong bones: Take one daily tablet of Vitamin D3 + K2 with Calcium 500
